For Fire Prevention Month, RD Ofel Quijano distributes Fire Extinguishers to FOs

18March2009. Prediction is that during these summer months, extreme heat is expected. It is in this line and in observance of Fire Prevention Month this March that the Parole and Probation Administration, Regional Office No. VII, distributes Fire Extinguishers to its 21 field offices in the region. Chiefs of the parole and probation offices from Cebu, Bohol, Oriental Negros and Siquijor received their units on March 18, 2009 at the GFB Information Center at the Hall of Justice, Cebu City, from Regional Director Ofelia E. Quijano.
Regional PIO Ceres Geromo informed that the agency consulted with the Bureau of Fire Protection before it bought these 5 kilograms Fireguard ABC fire extinguishers which contains Dry Chemical Monoammonium Phosphate. ABC Fire Extinguishers are made for first response to fire caused by A for trash, wood and paper; B for liquids and grease; and C for electrical equipment.
These fire equipments are in addition to the offices’ present fire extinguishers that have been refilled/recharged due to age. While these are still in the offices, the new ones will ensure that the offices are equipped with fire safety equipment in case of small fire outbreaks and that client case records are kept intact.
